Happy Monday everyone! I thought I’d share a card today that I made a month ago to congratulate my cousin on her 5th child (finally a baby girl! YAY!) This card is super quick and simple, since I made it at the last minute just before shipping her a few hand-me-down sleepers.

To create this, I simply rounded the corners of the card and the patterned paper, wrapped embroidery floss around the card, and stamped and die-cut the title. I used one of the newer Spellbinders labels, which I’ve really been in love with lately. The details really pop when a little ink is added to the embossed areas.

Here’s hoping everyone has a great Monday!

I am so grateful for all of the people that have helped us over the past six months. My mother-in-law was instrumental in helping me get the entire interior of the new house primed and painted, including doors and trim. I couldn’t have survived the house finishing touches and the moving process without my mother there to help with kids. My stepfather especially was an amazing whirlwind of action in the final week of construction and when we moved. He accomplished all those little things that would’ve have waited months to get done without an extra pair of working hands around.

I haven’t fully shown my gratitude toward these people, but I’m working on it. Here’s a card I made for my mother-in-law to get myself started. I love the SEI paper from a couple of years ago and the brand new Spellbinders Ribbon Tag die with an oval nestability. The stamp is from Hero Arts. Thanks for stopping by!

We’ve finished building our new home, moved in and are slowly readjusting to our day to day life. I’m looking forward to a week from today when my son Isaac starts 1st grade. I’m not one of those weepy moms that has a hard time with the separation. I give him a big hug, a pat on the back and do an internal jump for joy that we’ve reached the point in his development where he doesn’t need me all day long. I’ll miss him, but not too much.

Here’s a card that was used in the Spellbinders catalog supplement for CHA-Summer this past month. After doing the reveal for the Kaleidoscope die, it has continued to wow me on several projects. I love cutting the pendant center with felt, as shown here.

Today I wanted to share a recent Spellbinders DT submission. This card has a couple of notable techniques in it, including air brushed Impressabilities, and the simple, but fun, method of filling a nestability shape with buttons, beads, and other findings. My favorite part of this card though is the chipboard shape. It was a scrap I had laying in my stash and the last thing I added on, just to pull the whole thing together. I used my copic markers to color directly onto the chipboard and I love the faux suede look that resulted.
