Hello All!

Welcome to all of you visiting via the Spellbinders Blog Frenzy! You’ve found Preservation Arts, my scrapbooking and craft blog. My name is Jennifer Davis and I’ve been blessed to have been chosen as part of the Blog Frenzy (watch for my reveal on the very last day of the frenzy!), and I can see from the number of hits I’ve gotten in the past two days that many of you are already visiting my site. I’m thrilled to have new visitors and I hope that you’ll decide to subscribe to my RSS feed or visit back frequently. I am passionate about crafting and use a wide variety of techniques and products. Here are five things you might find interesting here:

Tips & techniques with tutorials (including video!). I’m currently working out the best way for me to share videos and techniques. Check back often for fresh new stuff! Tutorials will include digital, paper and hybrid craft techniques, as well as info on crafty-tech stuff like digital photography, printers, software, etc.

Inspiration in the form of projects and samples featuring my favorite products: Spellbinders, Cosmo Cricket, Copic, Clearsnap, 7 Gypsies and more! Here are a couple of posts to give you a taste: For Love of Food, Just a Note, Where Does the Time Go?

Simple, accessible cards and scrapbook pages: I live a busy life, and sometimes I just want to get a project done! When I’m scrapbooking and making cards for my own use, they are often something I can put together quickly and easily. A few examples: Delight, My Dad Rocks, Just 3

Free Digital Papers: I totally live on a tight budget and the nearest scrapbook/craft store is nearly an hour away. These facts of my life translate into very little shopping time and sometimes I have to get creative and resourceful to get the look I want. The way I often do that is to create my own digital files and print them on my trusty HP 9800 wide format printer. The way this benefits you is that I love to share them, and I generally don’t charge an money for you to download them and use them as you like. A few papers I’ve created: Electric Paper Pack, Inauguration Paper Pack

Printable (Hybrid) Freebie Files: One of my favorite new techniques is to digitally stencil or embellish die templates, print the digital file, then cut and emboss the printed file with the Wizard. This is a technique that I am still developing – it’s a ton of fun and the possibilities are endless. Check back for more of these freebies often. Here’s one of my favorites: Happy Spring.

I wouldn’t want to leave you all without some eye candy in this post. I’ve been very hard at work on recent projects, but many of them can’t be shown at the moment due to publication. Instead I’ll share with you a page of my daughter Maiah that was featured on the PBS show Scrapbook Memories a couple of seasons ago. The layout features Sakura pens, watercolors, doodling, and using glitter to create a “faux flocked” look. Instructions can be found here.

Wow! I’ve sufficiently rambled for today. I truly thank you for stopping by and hope to see many of you back in the future!

So for the three of you who might have actually visited my blog in the past, I hope you won’t miss the content that I had previously posted. I will slowly work on getting some of the old stuff back up, but I won’t be able to import it into the new format. I switched hosts and blog engines, and I just didn’t think it was worth the effort. The new format is more user friendly for me and I’m thinkin’ it’s kinda cute too.

For any of you who are new to my end of the galaxy, welcome, and thanks for stopping in. Hope to see you back again soon.
